Since both equations have 3y, we will substitute 3y.
2x-3y = 20 eq 1
rearrange
2x - 20 = 3y
sub the value of 3y into eq2
11x + (2x-20) = -1
11x + 2x - 20 = -1
13x = 19
x =19/13

sub value of x into any equation
2(19/13) - 3y =20
38/13 - 20 = 3y
-222/13 = 3y
y = -74/13

Find the equation of the line which is parallel to y = 4x + 3 and goes through the point (4, 5)
skad [1K]

Answer:

  • y = 4x - 11

Step-by-step explanation:

The given line has a slope m = 4.

We know parallel lines have equal slopes.

<u>Use point - slope equation and substitute the coordinates of the given point to get:</u>

  • y - 5 = 4(x - 4)
  • y - 5 = 4x - 16
  • y = 4x - 16 + 5
  • y = 4x - 11

1. Consider f(x) = 3x - 5
Rzqust [24]

Answer:

3

Step-by-step explanation:

Here we have the function

f(x)=3x-5

We want to find the following ratio:

\frac{f(x+h)-f(x)}{h}

Note that the limit of this for h\rightarrow 0 is equivalent to the derivative of the function.

Here we have:

f(x+h)=3(x+h)-5=3x+3h-5

And

f(x)=3x-5

Therefore we have

f(x+h)-f(x)=3x+3h-5-(3x-5)=3h

And therefore,

\frac{f(x+h)-f(x)}{h}=\frac{3h}{h}=3

X^2+15^2=25^2
X^2+225=625
Isolate X
X^2=400
Take the square root on both sides
X=positive and negative 20 but in this case the negative is thrown out because you can't have a negative side

A rectangular block has square base of area 64 cm². If the thickness of the block is 5 cm, find its total surface area.
Andrej [43]

Answer:

total surface area of cube is <u>6 * area of one side</u>

therefore area of one side is given 64cm^2

thickness is also given 5cm .

TSA is 64*5 = 320cm^2

hope it is helpful
