Answer:

The answer to your question would be that the complement indicated by the bolded word is an objective complement.

Explanation:

An objective complement or object complement is a word that follows a direct object to state what it has become. In other words, it gives further meaning to the direct object. It can be a noun, an adjective, or a pronoun.  In the example above, "a winner" is what the D.O has become, what "the play" has become.

Answer:

the point that the author is trying to convey is that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. what seems normal and ordinary to you may be someone elses biggest treasure. he bolsters this by giving examples comparing what a bucket of water is for differeent animals. what is a simple thing for the elephant is a home for the fish, and wht is a home for the fish is a big uncrossable path for the mouse.

The American has a long-standing love for African birds.
Snowcat [4.5K]
Adjectives are words that describe other words. They often give details about how something feels or looks. They can also give details about where something comes from (the origin of the thing) or how long something lasts or the length of something.

In the sentence "The American had long standing love for African birds", long and African are adjectives because they are describing other words, specifically the nouns in the sentence.

Long describes the length of the American's love. African describes the origin of the birds since they are from Africa. The other words in the sentence are not adjectives.

Read this excerpt from Joseph Stalin's radio broadcast on July 3, 1941:
oksian1 [2.3K]

Answer:

B

Explanation:

It really depends on what was underlined. There are two possibilities.

  • I think that not a single peace loving State could  decline a peace treaty with a neighboring State even  though the latter was headed by such fiends and cannibals  as Hitler and Ribbentrop.
  • Non-aggression pacts are pacts of peace between two  States. It was such a pact that Germany proposed to us in  1939.

The first one is irony of the highest order. Though Stalin was correct in his assessment of Hitler and Ribbentrop, he didn't include himself (who may have been the worst of the three), in his description.

The second one is just a definition of what a non-aggression pact was.

I would pick B. The real problem is what is underlined. B is the truth. It was actually Hitler's plan to invade Russia long before it happened. Not only that, he was so confident of victory that he did not order his textile industry to make protective clothing when he did invade Russia. He thought it would be over in Russia long before such clothing was needed.
