During the Middle Kingdom ( 2255-1650 B.C.E ) the Pharaohs began to work for the welfare of people. The whole Egypt was reunited under one rule and the period of Middle Kingdom is being called as golden age of Egypt because of economic, political and social stability of the period. Trade, arts and literature flourished during this period. The Pharaoh in the Middle Kingdom used to be "shepherd of his people" charged with the task of building public works and producing for the welfare of the Egyptians.
It basically means the proccess called Naturalization.
Nationalization (or nationalisation) is the process of transforming private assets into public assets by bringing them under the public ownership of a national government or state. Some nationalizations take place when a government seizes property acquired illegally.
By reading the passage we can figure out that the word "betwixt" means something similar to "between". We can infer this because the author tells us that he was on a passage, in a passage you can move only forward or backward. The author began to "crept aft", meaning he moved to the back of the boat, so he moved trough the passage. Then he says "till there warn't but one stateroom betwixt me and the cross-hall of the texas." Here we can see that he wants to go somewhere, or that there is an end to the passage, the end is "the cross-hall". So the narrator is in Place A., the "cross-hall" place C., and in between them is "one stateroom".
I think it might be C, but I am not 100% sure.
