The correct answer is C) it led to divisions between black and white citizens in the South.

The lawsuit Plessy v Ferguson was filed because Homer Plessy - that lived in Louisiana and was a Creole - sat in a section of a railroad car that was for “whites only”. He was arrested and took his case to the Supreme Court.

His argument was that the 13th and 14th Amendments of the US Constitution were violated by the Lousiana’s Separate Car Act - because the 13th amendment abolished slavery and the 14th granted rights to anyone who was born in the US.

The Supreme Court ruled that the 14th Amendment did not state that white and black people are equal races and therefore white people should not be obliged to stay in the same public spaces as black Americans.

This decision by the US Supreme Court was known as “separate but equal” and caused even more segregation in the US, several laws were passed that meant to discriminate even more African Americans.

How does the treatment of the LGBTQ+ community highlight the way government tried to combat the fear of Communism?
Arisa [49]
The way you treat someone based on their private and personal life just proves you’re nosy. And if they decide to just be out and open about it. It just means they’re proud and if you still put them down you’re a bad person to think of someone in a bad way because of the type of people they like.
