Processed food, is food that is commercially prepared (often through processing) to optimize ease of consumption.

Refined food is that which in industrial processing undergoes changes in its structure through the removal of some parts of the grain such as film and germ.

Fortified foods are those that receive the addition of some nutrient, such as iron, vitamins, omega 3, calcium, fiber and folic acid.

Grain foods are rich in complex carbohydrates, which are the body's main fuel.
