Beth wants to plant a garden at the back of her house. She has 32m of fencing. The area that can be enclosed is modelled by the

function A(x) = -2x2 + 32x, where x is the width of the garden in metres and A(x) is the area in square metres. What is the maximum area that can be enclosed?

Answer:

The maximum area that can be obtained by the garden is 128 meters squared.

Step-by-step explanation:

A represents area and we want to know the maximum.

A(x)=-2x^2+32x is a parabola.  To find the maximum of a parabola, you need to find it's vertex.  The y-coordinate of the vertex will give us the maximum area.

To do this we will need to first find the x-coordinate of our vertex.

x=\frac{-b}{2a}{/tex] will give us the x-coordinate of the vertex.Compare [tex]-2x^2+32x to ax^2+bx+c then a=-2,b=32,c=0[tex].So the x-coordinate is [tex]\frac{-(32)}{2(-2)}=\frac{-32}{-4}=8.

To find the y that corresponds use the equation that relates y and x.

y=-2x^2+32x

y=-2(8)^2+32(8)

y=-2(64)+32(8)

y=-128+256

y=128

The maximum area that can be obtained by the garden is 128 meters squared.

I believe it’s 30,180,000

First do 4% -> 0.04x15=0.6
0.6+100=100.6x300,000

But then again I’m not too sure so double check

Erika worked 14 hours last week and 20 hours this week. If she earns $9 per hour, how much did she earn during these two weeks
IrinaK [193]
$9 per hour for 14 hours the first week can be found by doing 9 • 14, which equals 126.
In the first week, Erika earned $126.
$9 per hour for 20 hours for the second week can be found by doing 9 • 20, which equals 180.
In the second week, Erika earned $180.
To find the total amount Erika earned in both weeks, add how much she made in week 1 to how much she made in week 2.
126 + 180 = 306
Erika made $306 during these 2 weeks.

(5+w)(w+4) in standard form
dlinn [17]

Answer:

  w² +9w +20

Step-by-step explanation:

Multiply it out, collect terms, and write as descending powers of w.

  (5+w)(w+4) = 5w +5·4 +w² +w·4

  = w² +9w +20
