Well since "Both rely on internal thoughts to develop both characters" is wrong ( thanks a lot by the way, i failed the test) i would guess that the answer is

B: Both in clude mainly one character's point of view. because its mainly Justin talking, we only hear his thoughts and opinions about Becky.

if that doesn't work... Plan B, (A: Both have multiple major conflicts to develop.

because Becky needs to get over her fear of failing and being perfect, while Justin needs to find an alternative to fixing his grades.

Both rely on internal thoughts to develop both characters.

Justin's thoughts are the only thoughts that are communicated in these two chapters. However, he is the one that is thinking about his failures in relation to Becky's successes. While his thoughts demonstrate his thinking process to calm Becky down, they are showing the different traits of the characters. Becky is a straight A student who seemingly finds school easy, whereas Justin struggles in school to maintain passing grades, but does very well with sports and trades.

Further Explanation

A simile is a type of figurative languages. Another type of figurative languages including personification, metaphor, hyperbole, assonance, paradox and etc. Figurative language uses a figure of speech to describe something beyond their literal meaning.

The other sentences: He was drowning in a sea of grief; You are my sunshine, and she was a hurricane in his heart are examples of a metaphor. In the first sentence, the phrase 'sea of grief' is to describe how the man is suffering, maybe the grief is deep like a sea.
