Answer:

The catalyst for the development of the symphony orchestra was a need to place instruments as the protagonists of music and not the voice of telling.

Explanation:

Music has always been present in the history of mankind. However, for many centuries, the voice played the main role, whereas the musical instruments acted in a supporting way. It was in the midst of the Italian Renaissance that some composers began to prepare operas for an autonomous group of musicians with standardized training, giving rise to orchestras - and to the very history of instrumental or classical music.

The symphony orchestra, or philharmonic as we know it today, has its origins only in the Renaissance period. The first phase, called the Baroque orchestra, started in the second half of the 16th century and was heavily influenced by the Italians.

She presented the first attempts to form autonomous instrumental groups and with standardization of formation, with compositions made for a specific number of instruments, such as the orchestras of Giovani Gabrielli in Venice and Claudio Monteverdi in Florence. Gradually, important European cities created their own theaters and opera houses, where renowned composers gathered the best talents in the region.

At the end of the 18th century, the classical orchestra emerged, which introduced the current formation of orchestras, as well as new concepts for the creation of musical instruments and the way of playing in groups.
