<span>The Constitution of a country defines government power and establishes the basic structure of the government. Some have a Presidential form of government e.g. The US. Some have a Parliamentary form with a Prime Minister as head of government as in The United Kingdom. Some have a mixed form with both President and Prime Minister sharing power like in France.</span>
The American Revolution had profound effects on the institution of slavery. Several thousand slaves won their freedom by serving on both sides of the War of Independence. As a result of the Revolution, a surprising number of slaves were manumitted, while thousands of others freed themselves by running away.
