Islam regulates many aspects of its believers' lives:

for example
- prayer five times a day influences people's rhytm
- fasting in Ramadan influences what people can and cannot do during this time
- eating halal means that the act of eating is regulated too

And many more. Islam influences how people live on daily basis, and through this it's a way of life (as well as a set of beliefs).
