Observing why violence is still so easy to perpetuate in a historical context can help us understand why this is so.

Explanation:

The survival of the fittest argument put forward by Darwinian evolutionary theory tries to explain how the stronger species, or the stronger members of the same species survived and the weaker ones did not. They survived often by violent excursions amongst each other over resources or potential mates. How easily this can still be applied in modern society can be understood by questioning what motivates people to do violent things. Although there are many reason for this, some are also connected to how we evolved as a species. In modern society, especially in the developing world, people still exhibit violent behaviour when their means of sustenance are threatened which can be related to the notion of surviving by violent confrontations.
