Select all the correct answers. a seismograph has a heavy weight that is hung from a spring. what would happen if the weight wer
AlexFokin [52]

If the weight were attached to a rod instead of a spring,  then the seismograph would not function. Thus, the correct answer is E.

<h3 /><h3>What is seismograph?</h3>

Seismograph are refers as instruments used to measure the intensity of the earthquake by identifying the epicentre of it.

A pen connected to the weight rests its point on a drum that can revolve. When the  drum gently rotates, the pen draws a straight line on paper that has been tightly wound around it.

A seismograph consists of a heavy weight attached to a frame by a spring or wire. When this spring is replaced by rod, then in this case the seismography will not work.

Therefore, option E the seismograph would not function is the appropriate answer.

What is settlers motivation for the Amazon rainforest
Damm [24]
Once had the highest deforestation rate in the world and in 2005 still had the largest area of forest removed annually.[1] Since 1970, over 700,000 square kilometers (270,000 sq mi) of the Amazon rainforest have been destroyed. In 2012, the Amazon was approximately 5.4 million square kilometres, which is only 87% of the Amazon's original state.[2]

Rainforests have decreased in size primarily due to deforestation. Despite reductions in the deforestation rate over the last ten years, the Amazon rainforest will be reduced by 40% by 2030 at the current rate.[3] Between May 2000 and August 2006, Brazil lost nearly 150,000 km2 of forest, an area larger than Greece. According to the Living Planet Report 2010, deforestation continues at an alarming rate. But at the CBD 9th Conference, 67 ministers signed up to help achieve zero net deforestation by 2020.
