Answer:

10 pairs for $13.48 is a better buy

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

6 Pairs of socks have price $8.99

Let it call trade A

10 Pairs of socks have price $13.48

Let it call trade B

To Find:

Best buy = ?

Reason for it

Solution:

To find the best buy from both of these two trades we have to see that in which we will be charged less for per pair of socks

For Trade A:

6 Pairs of socks have price $8.99

Price of one pair of socks = Total price / Total Pairs

                                           = $ 8.99 / 6

                                            =$1.498 per pair

For Trade B:

10 Pairs of socks have price $13.48

Price of one pair of socks = Total price / Total Pairs

                                           = $ 13.48 / 10

                                            =$1.348 per pair

Trade B which is 10 Pairs of socks have price $13.48 is a better buy because of the reason that Price of per pair in Trade B is $1.348 per pair which is smaller then the price of Trade A which has a price of $1.498 per pair. So in the second case he will be saving more and per pair price is also low.

Answer:

b² - 4ac > 0

Step-by-step explanation:

Conditions for the discriminant

• If b² - 4ac > 0 then 2 real and distinct roots

• If b² - 4ac = 0 then 2 real and equal roots

• If b² - 4ac < 0 then no real roots

Here the roots are x = 0 and x = 4

That is 2 real and distinct roots , then

b² - 4ac > 0

Which equation of the solutions of x2 = -7x – 8
timama [110]

Answer:

x = 1, -5.56

Step-by-step explanation:

x^2 = -7x - 8

shift -7x and -8 to the other side . Remember when u shift minus changes into plus.

x^2 + 7x + 8 = 0

using quadratic equation formula

in quadratic equation one value comes positive and other comes in negative

a = 1  , b = 7 and c = 8

taking positive sign

x = (-b + \sqrt{b^2 - 4*a*c}) /2*a

x = (-7 + \sqrt{7^2 - 4*1*8} ) /2*1

x = (-7 + \sqrt{49 + 32} ) /2

x = (-7 + \sqrt{81} )/ 2

x = -7 + 9 / 2

x = 2/2

x = 1

taking negative sign

(-b - \sqrt{b^2 - 4*a*c} ) /2*a

x = (-7 - \sqrt{7^2 - 4*1*8} ) /2*1

x = (-7 - \sqrt{49 - 32} ) /2

x = -7 - \sqrt{17} / 2

x = -7 - 4.12 / 2

x = -11.12/2

x = -5.56

therefore x = 1 , - 5.56

What is the mean of the data set? {11, 14, 15, 16, 16, 18, 20, 20, 22, 22} A. 11 B. 15.6 C. 17.4 D 18
Mademuasel [1]

Answer:

C. 17.4

Step-by-step explanation:

add all the numbers and then divide

11 + 14 + 15 + 16 + 16 + 18 + 20 + 20 + 22 + 22 = 174

then divide by the amount of numbers there is which is 10.

174/10 = 17.4

Yo i need help wit 17 and 18 i’ll give u a brainliest you please
cricket20 [7]

Answer:

17. See below

18. 750

Step-by-step explanation:

17. Since the lollipops are being sold at the same price, 50 cents, for each one sold, they make a constant amount of money. For each increase in lollipops sold, there is a constant increase in money made, and thus the situation is a linear function.

18. To solve this equation, let's say y is the money made at the convention in dollars and x is the number of lollipops sold. If the principal gave them 125 dollars before they sold any lollipops (0 lollipops sold), then 125 is the y-intercept of the function, and in the equation y=mx+b, b=125. If each lollipop costs 50 cents (half of a dollar), then for each lollipop, x, sold, .5 dollars are made and are added to the profit, y. Thus, .5 dollars is the slope. The equation then becomes:

y=0.5x+125

Now, if they need 500 dollars, y is thus equal to 500 dollars. Solving the equation:

500=0.5x+125

500-125=0.5x

375=0.5x

\frac{375}{0.5} =x

375*2=x

750=x

Thus, 750 lollipops must be sold.

Help me guy it is hard
Galina-37 [17]
The answer is B, you will need at least 6 spring roll wrapper packages.

 The way you get the answer is by turning the word problem into an expression. You can make this into the fraction (17*6+15*3)/(25). 17 is the number of adults and you multiply this by how many spring rolls Jill wants to give each adult, which is 6, you can do the same for the children. Next the denominator is 25 which represents the amount of spring roll wrappers per each package. When you simplify the answer comes around to 5.88, but since you cant buy 88% of a spring role wrap package you have to buy another whole one, which makes the answer six.
