I personally am muslim, and in my religion the woman actually gets to KEEP her maiden name. After the child is born, he/she takes her/his father's last name. I think that the woman has the rights to keep her surname because after marriage, her last name would just go away, as if it never existed, and the child wouldn't get to know his or her mother's real last name. Therefore, women should be able to keep their last names after marriage.
It might be said that the sentence ”The male lion is a strong fighter and is called the “king of the jungle.” presents a compound object ( option A) in the predicate. " a strong fighter" and " called the King of the jungle" are both complements of the verb "is".
