1. You usually don't see a boy running through the neighborhood barefoot. Plus he was really fast.
2. Roy is very curious and the barefoot boy likes to be alone. He doesn't want to be bothered.
3. Beatrice has been really mean to Roy in the past. She stole his bike! It's surprising to see him try to talk to someone who did that to him.
