Expanded it is (x+4)(x+4)

To solve you need to distribute.
So x^2 +4x +4x +16
Then combine like terms..
x^2 +8x +16

I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but I'm amusing what you mean. You can multiply the smaller number by a part of the bigger number. for instance, 45x5. You can multiply 5x5 and that =25, then mulitply 40x5=200. Then add 400+25=225. So, 45x5=225.
