40 - Percentage decrease =

40 - (80% × 40) =

40 - 80% × 40 =

(1 - 80%) × 40 =

(100% - 80%) × 40 =

20% × 40 =

20 ÷ 100 × 40 =

20 × 40 ÷ 100 =

800 ÷ 100 =

8;
40 decreased by 80% = 8 
Absolute change (actual difference): 8 - 40 = - 32
