A mail distribution center processes as many as 175000 pieces of mail each day the mail is sent via ground in air each land carr

ier takes 2000 pieces per load and each air carrier takes 1500 pieces per load the loading equipment is able to handle as many as 150 loads per day let X me the number of loads by land carriers and wybie the number of loads by air carriers which system of inequality represents the situation

Let's assume

x be the number of loads by land carriers

y be the number of loads by air carriers

so, maximum number of loads can be 150

total number of loads =(the number of loads by land carriers)+(the number of loads by air carriers)

so, we get

x+y\leq 150

the mail is sent via ground in air each land carrier takes 2000 pieces per load

so, total number of pieces by land =2000x

each air carrier takes 1500 pieces per load the

so, total number of pieces by air =1500y

total number of pieces = (total number of pieces by land)+(total number of pieces by air)

now, we can plug values

total number of pieces =2000x+1500y

A mail distribution center processes as many as 175000 pieces of mail each day

so, we get

2000x+1500y\leq 175000

so, we get system of inequality as

x+y\leq 150

2000x+1500y\leq 175000................Answer

Naily [24]

Answer:

Standard deviation of the sample = 17.421

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that in a random sample of 80 teenagers, the average number of texts handled in one day is 50.

Also, the 96% confidence interval for the mean number of texts handled by teens daily is given as 46 to 54.

So, sample mean, xbar = 50  and   Sample size, n = 80

Let sample standard deviation be s.

96% confidence interval for the mean number of texts,\mu is given by ;

    96% confidence interval for \mu = xbar \pm 2.0537*\frac{s}{\sqrt{n} }

                              [46 , 54]           = 50 \pm 2.0537*\frac{s}{\sqrt{80} }

Since lower bound of confidence interval = 46

So,  46 = 50 - 2.0537*\frac{s}{\sqrt{80} }

       50 - 46 = 2.0537*\frac{s}{\sqrt{80} }

            s = \frac{4*\sqrt{80} }{2.0537} = 17.421

Therefore, standard deviation of the sample is 17.421 .
