The Chinese Exclusion Act was passed in 1882, and it suspended Chinese immigration to the United States. The goal of this act was to prevent the American workers' wages from being lowered, as the Chinese could provide cheap labor. This also aimed to prevent America from being overpopulated by Chinese immigrants.
The Chinese Exclusion Act brought rigidity not only to the Chinese alone but to Caucasians and other races as well which lasted for about thirty years. The American economy suffered a great loss as a result of this Act.The Act was a sign of injustice and unfair treatment to the Chinese workers because the jobs they engaged in were mostly menial jobs.
Judicial Review is the power of the U.S. Supreme Court to review laws and actions from Congress and the President to determine whether they are constitutional. I hope its correct.
