Some characteristics of this change are: technological innovations and modernization, competition in the global market, etc. However, the pollution still a severe problem in developing countries. This is because, these countries doesn´t have a substantial economic growth, therefore cannot afford to focus on environmental problems.  

Developing countries need to decide between keeping competitive prices to obtain and sustain economic growth while the poverty decrease. This decisions usually lead to environmental pollution. For example In sub-Saharan Africa, depends mainly on natural resources. They over exploits of natural resources such as coal, oil and gas, gold, copper. This cause pollution in air, water and land, and it can impact the climate change.

They should care more about pollution, because it also affects the health, sometimes leads to death of the population. Is important to mention that per year millions of people can be affected.
