(Poe considers the raven's demeanor to be unyielding, somewhat like how a king would behave in front of his subjects, or how a man of higher social rank would behave in front of those of lesser rank)
3. 'And the silken, sad, uncertain rustling of each purple curtain...' (Uncertainty is a quality attributed to humans)
4. 'And each separate dying ember wrought its ghost upon the floor.' <span>(Ghosts are usually used in reference to humans beings, but here, Poe has assigned this reference to the burning embers from his fire)
