The probability that an archer hits her target when it is windy is 0.4; when it is not windy, her probability of hitting the tar

get is 0.7. On any shot, the probability of a gust of wind is 0.3. Find the probability that:a. On a given shot there is a gust of wind and she hits her target. b. She hits the target with her first shot. c. She hits the target exactly once in two shots. d. There was no gust of wind on an occasion when she missed.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let T be the event that she hot the target and W be the event that there was a gust of wind.

P(T | W) = 0.4

P(T | W') = 0.7

P(W) = 0.3

P(W') = 1 - 0.3 = 0.7

a) P(W \small \cap T) = P(W) x P(T | W)

= 0.3 x 0.4

= 0.12

b) P(T) = P(W \small \cap T) + P(W' \small \cap T)

= 0.12 + 0.7 x 0.7

= 0.61

c) P(she hits the target exactly once in two shots) = P(hits the target on first shot and misses on the second) + P(misses the target on first shot and hits on the second)

= 0.61 x (1-0.61) + (1-0.61) x 0.61

= 0.4758

d) P(W' | T') = P(T'\small \capW')/P(T') [Bayes' theorem]

= [0.7 x (1-0.7)]/[0.7 x (1-0.7) + 0.3 x (1-0.4)]

= 0.5385

DZ,2 of X is

(0, -4)
(2, -2)
(6, 2)
alexira [117]

Answer:

The correct option is 3. The image of X is X'(6,2).

Step-by-step explanation:

D_{Z,2} means the dialation by scale factor 2 and the center of dilation is Z.

If a figure dilated by scale factor k and the center of dilation is (a,b), then

(x,y)\rightarrow (k(x-a)+a,k(y-b)+b)

From the given figure it is clear that the coordinates of X are (4,0) and the coordinates of Z are (2,-2), so the coordinates of image are

X(4,0)\rightarrow X'(2(4-2)+2,2(0+2)-2)

X(4,0)\rightarrow X'(6,2)

The image of X is X'(6,2). Therefore the correct option is 3.

If 8 is an element in the domain of f(x)=6x-17/5, what is the corresponding element in the range Please help need it now by 2:05
11111nata11111 [884]

Answer:

The corresponding element is 44 3/5

Step-by-step explanation:

Here, we want to calculate the f(x) value given the x value

what we simply do is to substitute 8 for x

we have this as;

f(8) = 6(8) - 17/5

f(8) = 48-17/5

f(8) = (5(48) - 17)/5

f(8) = 223/5 = 44 3/5
