The short answer here is that he first became the totalitarian ruler and then used his authority to make a totalitarian state. He was voted Chancellor in 1933 but he used his power to make the Reichstag pass the Enabling Act which allowed him to pass the laws without the participation of the Reichstag and thus taking the complete control of the state. He achieved this through persuasion and violence.

During the Industrialization of the late 1800s and the early 1900s, I would have lived in the Northeast because most of the factories and the big businesses were migrating more to the North making cities bigger and urban areas more populated. I would only live there because I would earn more money than living in an area that doesn´t have any jobs near me but living in a big city would also living with other families since these places are so crowded and the construction workers were not fast enough to build all of these places.
