So, the form of the funtion is y = A (x-0)^2 - 3 = Ax^2 - 3

Now, you also know that the roots of the parabole are close to -1 and 1 but they are not those exact value.

So, find the roots for any of the possible options:

b) f(x) = 2x^2 - 3 = 0 => 2x^2 = 3 => x^2 = 3/2 => x = +/- √(3/2) ≈ +/- 1.22

That is a very plausible answer

c) f(x) = (1/2)x^2 - 3 = 0 => x^2 = 2*3 = 6 => x = +/- √6  ≈ +/- 2.45, which is very far from the roots shown on the graph.
