Let s represent the number of students surveyed.
.. 0.40s play baseball
.. 0.60*(0.40s) play soccer and baseball
.. 0.60*0.40s = 12 . . . . . . . 12 students play soccer and baseball
.. s = 12/(0.60*0.40) = 12/0.24 = 50

Jonah surveyed 50 students.

_____
This is the number of students required to match Jonah's calculations.

Suppose that you are interested in determining the average height of a person in a large city. You begin by collecting the heigh
monitta

The standard error of the estimate of average height in the city is 0.25.

Given average height 64 inches, sample mean and sample standard deviation of 4 inches.

We have to determine the standard error of the estimate of the average height in the city.

Standard error is the error which is predicted before research to happen in research. It is calculated by dividing the standard deviation of the sample by the square root of the sample size.

n=256

μ=mean

s = sample standard deviation

Standard error=s/\sqrt{n}

=4/\sqrt{256}

=4/16

=0.25

Hence the standard error of the estimate of the average height is 0.25.

What is the value of x
Gemiola [76]

9514 1404 393

Answer:

  x = 10

Step-by-step explanation:

The mnemonic SOH CAH TOA reminds you of the relation ...

  Sin = Opposite/Hypotenuse

  sin(30°) = 5/x

Solving for x, we get ...

  x = 5/sin(30) = 5/0.5

  x = 10

_____

It can be helpful to remember that the side ratios in a 30°-60°-90° triangle are ...

  1 : √3 : 2

That is, the hypotenuse is 2 times the length of the side opposite the 30° angle. Here, that means x = 2×5 = 10, as we found above.
