The English Bill of Rights, which was an act of Parliament, guaranteed certain rights of the citizens of England from the power of the crown. The Bill of Rights was later added on by the Act of Settlement in 1701. Both of these contributed to the establishment of parliamentary sovereignty, which gives the legislative body of Parliament absolute sovereignty and makes it supreme over all other government institutions. The Bill of Rights also shrunk many of the powers of the crown. In fact, the United States Bill of Rights was modeled after the English Bill of Rights.

which weakness made our first attempt with a government so unsuccessful, lasting for only 12 years (1777 – 1789)? Explain why. (
Sloan [31]

Answer:

The Confederation government could not handle post-war debts and economic depression.

Explanation:

Because there was great fear among the American people about having a strong central government, they decided to run a confederacy and make the central government as weak as possible.

However, this decision came back to haunt them when there was a rebellion by the people in 1786 after the Confederation could not settle the debts they owed to European countries and the central government could not raise enough money to muster troops that will quell the rebellion.

Which of the following statements is correct? Group of answer choices Europeans and Native Americans were less different than th
GuDViN [60]

The correct statement is Europeans and Native Americans were less different than their crops were.

Exchange of Land

 • The land was viewed by Europeans as a commodity, something that could be purchased, sold and assigned to a specific owner.
 • Native Americans were opposed to the idea of land as a commodity, especially when it came to private ownership.
 • Indian communities would sell land as a result, although in their minds they had just surrendered the rights to use the property.
 • In actuality, it appears that they retained their right to occupy the land they sold to the Dutch in addition to selling it.
 • When one realizes that the Indians likely never planned to give up Manhattan Island, the famous transaction to buy it for sixty guilders loses part of its effect as a wonderful real estate deal.
