With an army of 8,000 his plan was to move from Canada to the south to capture the forts on Lake Champlain, Lake Georgia and the upper Hudson River. His aim was to separate New England from the southern colonies which was the source of the rebel armies' supplies.

They would have alot of ideas that they disagreed on and their policies would be different.... also one would be democrat and the other republican...so the ideas would be different. they also had been arguing and disagreeing on many issues throughout the campaign that it would be hard for them to suddenly start agreeing on things in order to make decisions.
