How do contour lines show elevation, slope, and relief?
Ivanshal [37]
A contour line is a line of 'equal height': every point on a contour is the same height above sea level.

The closer any two contour lines are the steeper the hill is: and the further apart they are the move level the ground.

If a group of contour lines suddenly move to form a V shape then the hill either has a promontory sticking out from it or a valley in it.

What are basic characteristics of stars' orbits in the disk, halo, and bulge of our galaxy? what are basic characteristics of st
navik [9.2K]
Largest number of stars in our galaxy is located in a disk. They have nearly circular orbits around black hole which is located in a center of galaxy. Orbits of all these stars have same orientation. Some of orbits have small inclination which causes for stars to move little up and down.

Halo stars are located in a "bubble" around our galaxy. These stars travel high above and far below the disk on orbits with random orientations. These are stars that once were located in a disk but they went outside of it.

Bulge stars are located in a center of our galaxy. They also orbit black hole and they have much shorter period of orbit than all other stars in a galaxy. Their orbits have random orientations.
