I believe the answer is: A.Boys were taken from their families to be raised in barracks.

By the age of 7, young Spartan Boys would be taken from their families to be put in a government program that require the Boys to undergone early military education. The education last until they are around 18 years old, and at that age they are allowed to take rigorous military tests that determine their social status in sparta.

The question was whether the freedom of the press, guaranteed by the First Amendment, was subordinate to the need to maintain secrecy as stated by the executive branch, President Nixon. The court claimed that the First Amendment protected the freedom of press of the newspapers.
