According to the pamphlet called "Common Sense," written by English thinker Thomas Pain, the 13 colonies should fight to get independence from the English monarchy. In his 47 page document, published in January 1776,  Pain invited the colonists to support the Independence movement and the Revolutionary War, stating that Europe, not Englan, was the parent country of America."
