Answer:

Jamal will pay more Income Tax and Diamond will pay more Sales Tax.

Explanation:

Jamal total earnings = $48000

Diamond Total earnings = $50000

Income tax for jamal in California = 6% of $48000 = 0.06*48000

= $2880

Jamal Sales Tax rate is 8% in the state of California.

Now Diamond's Income Tax in Arizona = 3% of $50000= 0.03*50000

= $1500

Sales tax for Diamond in Arizona is 9.5% which is higher than the sales tax rate of Jamal in California.

Jamal will pay more Income Tax

Diamond will pay more Sales Tax

We can just calculate the income tax of both persons. We cannot calculate the sales tax for their purchase here as no purchased item is given to put sales tax on it and get the findings, rather just rate of sales tax is given, which is showing a higher sales tax rate in Arizona, than California. So on the basis of information given in the question, we calculated the income tax for both persons which is higher for Jamal, and from the sales tax rate we conclude that Diamond will pay more Sales tax.

<u>Jamal would pay more state income tax than Diamond. Diamond pay more in sales tax when making purchases than Jamal.  </u>

Further Explanation:

As the sales tax in Arizona is more than California. Diamond lives in Arizona. That's why Diamond pays more sales tax.

Sale Income Tax: It is the tax charged on sales when making a purchase. When the customer pays sales tax, the producer receives sales tax and after a particular period. The seller pays the sales tax collected from the customer to the government.

State Income Tax: It is the tax charged on the total earnings of the individual, institutions, and corporations in a particular year. It is different from state to state. For Example, Arizona has a 3% state income tax, and California has a 6% state income tax.

Compute State Income Tax for Jamal:

 \begin{aligned}\text{State Income Tax}&=\text{Earnings}\times\text{State Tax Rate}\\&=\$48,000\times0.06\\&=\$2,880\end{aligned}

<u>Therefore the State Income Tax for Jamal is $2,880.</u>

Compute State Income Tax for Diamond:

The king punished the thief in passive<br>
NARA [144]

Answer:

The thief was punished by the king.

Explanation:

The passive voice is used when we want to emphasize the action (the verb) and the object of a sentence rather than subject. This means that the subject is either less important than the action itself or that we don't know who or what the subject is. Passive: Napa Valley is known for its excellent wines.
