There was a series of laws and amendments passed to give them their rights, and example would be:
The right to vote
The destruction of man being enslaved do to color of skin
Etc.
But of course this stuff kept going until the late 1800`s, but finally died down
In John. F Kennedy's speech he says it won't take the first hundred days or thousand days
Old Imperialism is basically what Great Britain did before America took independence (and a little after with the colonies being set up in Africa). Britain established colonies so that they would send resources over to back over to the main country.
A great example of this is the Triangle Trade where America would send Vegetables, Horses, and Tobacco to Britain in exchange for slaves, which Britain would buy from Africa for Gold.
1. We stand for the flag today, not to please ourselves but to honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
2. We stand for the flag not to focus on what divides us but on what unites us, which is being an American.
3. We stand for the flag not to pledge allegiance to a president, but to honor the reality that we have an elected president and not a lifetime king.
4. We stand not because of past or present pain caused by injustice, but to salute the principle of justice.
5. We stand for the flag not for our generation but to set an example for the next generation.
