The first problem that the republic faced was the governing of the empire. (Yes, Rome was an empire under the republic) At the beginning, there was the problem of civil rights for the plebeians. Over the years the republic evolved into a "rich man's club" as one had to be wealthy or deeply in debt in order to get elected. A candidate had to put on a good show for the voters and this was expensive. Eventually the senate split into two groups, those who wanted change and those who wanted things the way they always had been. This was the downfall of the republic or the problem that they could not so

Segregation in the US armed forces was required by Jim Crow laws. Congress. the NAACP. Plessy v. Ferguson.
Dima020 [189]

Segregation in the United States Armed Forces was required by Jim Crow laws.

The Jim Crow laws were state and local laws in the United States, promulgated by the white state legislatures, that at the time were dominated by the Democrats after the Reconstruction period between 1876 and 1965. These laws advocated the racial segregation in all public facilities by de jure mandate under the slogan "separate but equal" and applied to African-Americans and other non-white ethnic groups in the states of the United States. In reality, this led to treatment and accommodation being generally inferior to those insured for American whites, systematizing a number of economic, educational and social disadvantages. The de jure segregation was applied mainly in the southern United States. On the other hand, in the north, segregation was generally de facto predominantly towards blacks who lived in urban ghettos.

Some examples of Jim Crow laws were segregation in public schools, public places, public transportation and the segregation of bathrooms and restaurants; In addition, there were also sources of drinking water for whites and blacks. The US military was also segregated. The Jim Crow laws were derived from the black codes (1800-1866), which had also limited the civil rights and civil liberties of African-Americans.

5. How did the slave trade contribute to the rise of industry in Britain?
Ganezh [65]

From 1750 onwards a new industry emerged in Britain - the production of cotton cloth. Wool production had previously been Britain's major industry, but cotton had one key advantage - machinery could process cotton fibres better than wool.

As a result it was in cotton production that the industrial revolution began, particularly in and around Manchester. The cotton used was mostly imported from slave plantations. Slavery provided the raw material for industrial change and growth.

The growth of the Atlantic economy was an integral part of the growth of exports - for example manufactured cotton cloth was exported to Africa.

The Atlantic economy can be seen as the spark for the biggest change in modern economic history. The Atlantic economy in the 1700s was founded on slave labour.
