What is the area of the kite?

Mathematics

Answer:

60 ft squared.

Step-by-step explanation:

Hope this helps! Alright so you have 3 triangles. Remember the formula for finding the area of a triangle is base times height divided by 2 or 0.5 times the base times the height. For the bigger triangle there are two bases that 2 ft and 2 ft. Add those bases to get 4 ft. Alright, you have the base for the big triangle and the height of it. Do 4 times 20 and divide it by 2. You get 40. Alright, you have the area of one triangle now find the area of the other two triangles. They are congruent so do 2 times 10 divide it by 2 which is 20, but multiply it by 2 since there are two triangles. You get 20 ft squared for those two triangles added. Now you have 20 ft squared and 40 ft squared. To get the area of the kite add both areas (40 plus 20), and you get 60 ft squared for the whole kite.
