Answer:

C,)Presidents Lincoln and Johnson

Explanation:

Presidents Abraham Lincoln and Andrew Johnson adopted moderate positions to return the South to the Union as quickly as possible, while Radical Republicans in Congress sought stronger measures to improve the rights of African-Americans, including the Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution. The United States, while reducing the rights of former confederates, such as through the provisions of the Wade-Davis bill, Johnson, a former Tennessee senator and former slave owner, followed an indulgent policy toward ex-Confederates . Lincoln's last speeches show that he was leaning to support the freedom of vote of all freedmen, while Johnson opposed this.

What do you think is the allure ( draw /appeal ) of the western
nordsb [41]

Answer:

The United States desired the West because the West coast would open up the United States to Asian markets.  Eastern ports connected the U.S with Europe.  The West meant we could expand our trading power globally.

The population was rapidly growing in the East, Americans were running out of room, they had to move West.

Economic hardships (panics and depressions) in the East pushed Americans to the West.

The West had abundant,  inexpensive, and often free, land. This not only attracted eastern Americans, but poor, landless Europeans as well.

The British had their eyes on the West as well.  Prior to the Annexation of Texas, Britain had established a friendly relationship with the Republic of Texas.  They were interested in trading with Texas and keeping the U.S from expanding West.  In order to limit British influence in America, the United States decided to Annex Texas in 1845.

What did michelangelo retain from bramante's original design for the new saint peter's basilica?
umka21 [38]

Michelangelo shares Bramante's belief that a central plan is the ideal form for a church.

Always a sculptor first and foremost, Michelangelo brought his obsession with the human form into architecture and believed that buildings must conform to the shape of the human body. It is perhaps an absolute masterpiece: Michelangelo's strangely moving statue of Pietà, carved during the sculptor's first visit to Rome.

when he was only twenty years old. Bramante made the first plan of the new church. He proposed a massive church centrally planned  in the form of a Greek cross enclosed in a square with a large dome in the center, and smaller domes and half-domes radiating out.
