What inferences can be made about the differences between the "old money" of East Egg and the "new money" of West Egg based on t

he two settings? Even though there is a "sinister contrast" between East Egg and West Egg, everyone gets along. The contemporary, fashionable residences of the West Egg reflect their owners' acceptance into all levels of society. The wealthy and fashionable East Egg residents hide their unattractive qualities underneath light, dreamy appearances. West Egg people are more sophisticated than East Egg people because those from West Egg earned their money more recently.

Answer: The wealthy and fashionable East Egg residents hide their unattractive qualities underneath light, dreamy appearances.

Explanation:

In his novel, Great Gatsby, F.Scott Fitzgerald contrasts the two neighborhoods - East Egg and West Egg. People who live in East Egg were born in rich families (Tom and Daisy Buchanan, for instance). People in West Egg, like Gatsby, gained wealth by themselves. East Egg residents are heartless and care only about their own happiness. They live in luxurious houses and wear expensive clothes, hoping that in this way, they will make up for their unattractive qualities.

Dear Mama,

I am enjoying my new life in California. The buildings are so unique, the culture is amazing! It is completely wonderful. I love the weather, sometimes its a bit cold but overall its nice, a lot of rich people are here as well. Its nice to see their fancy cars! I enjoy sometimes watching out my window and watching all the cars pass by my house, it's so cool to see all the unique ones that drive by. There are so many unique kinds of people! All the shops and restaurants sell all kinds of different items and food. I like being so close to the ocean as well, even if it's quite cold most of the time. The trip to California was amazing as well, we saw so many neat stuff. Landmarks, parks, everything! The food we ate was really good, visited a lot of nice places to eat. It was a little boring sitting in the car, but we passed the time. Anyways, enough about me. Hows the farm? It's wonderful there, as much as I like the life here I would still go back if I could. How have you been? Whats it life without me and my family there? Is it difficult tending to the farm on your own? I have so many questions. I miss you so much! Please write back soon.

Answer:

C. I wield a pen, this fine and fearless sword, To open doors for which there are no keys

Explanation:

The inference that supports that the writer uses journalism as a voice for the voiceless and forgotten is option C.

This is because of the statement made that his pen which he uses to write news and articles are his sword and they open doors which have no keys.
