What are two important events or changes in the history of journalism? Describe them.
tiny-mole [99]
1) Breaking the Watergate story- After the break-in to the Democratic National Convention building, investigative reports began to research who was involved behind this break-in. This lead to one of the biggest journalistic events in US history. Thanks to the work of Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward, President Richard Nixon was exposed as being aware of this break-in and actually had a part in organizing it. This news story shocked America, as a president has never been linked to such an incident.

2) Release of the Pentagon Papers- These previously classified documents were released by different newspaper organizations (like the New York Times and Washington Post). This showed that the government had been lying to the American public about the progress being made in the Vietnam War.

Montano1993 [528]
Actions taken during WW1 helped to promote ethnic unity and destabilise the region for the next century.

As Lawrence of Arabia encouraged the Bedouin tribes to fight against the Ottoman Empire, he tried to provoke nationalism in the ethnicities living in the Empire at the time, for example, Syrians and Arabs. He encouraged them to fight for their freedom and promised an independent nation for those minorities in the Empire.

The Sykes-Picot agreement destabilised the region and broke the promises made by Britain and France for an independent nation for the Arabs, Syrians, Bedouins etc. They split the Middle East in accordance to their colonial spheres of influence and occupied different parts of the Middle East, the borders created caused anger and outrage for some, eg Israel-Palestine.

What does Gallipoli Campaign mean?
Andreas93 [3]

Answer:

The Gallipoli campaign or the Dardanelles campaign was a World War I campaign that took place on the Gallipoli (today's Turkey), which started with a naval attack by British and French forces.

Explanation:

During 1915, the Allied Powers attempted to occupy the Gallipoli Peninsula and the Dardanelles to access to Constantinople, expel the Ottoman Empire from the war and open a Black Sea route towards Russia.

The battle ended in 1916 with the complete withdrawal of the invading forces, after the heavy losses among old naval ships and military forces, because of inadequate equipment and lack of experience.

consider the problems faced by African Americans, Chinese immigrants, Mexican Americans, and women after the Civil War. How were
ch4aika [34]
The problems that they had all faced were discrimination along with the struggles to gain equality in the United States. Things that differed were the ways in which they were treated especially for women who had the ability to live in comfort but had no say in what happened in their lives. African Americans really only had other African Americans to speak to and sympathize with them. Chinese were still very much so hated in the US and got treated like they were next to nothing, and Mexican Americans were really just stereotyped as pack-mules.

Hope I at least got the idea of what they were asking for :D
