The correct answer is A) The head of state and the head of the church were the same person.

The establishment of the Church of England changed government un that the head of state and the head of the church were the same person.

English King Henry VII split with the Pope in 1530 and created the Church of England. After the Pope denied him the nullification of his marriage with Catherine de Aragon, King Henry passed the Act of Succession and the Act of Supremacy. The Act recognized that the King was the supreme head of the Church of England and he adopted the name Defender of the Faith of the Anglican Church.
