a googol is a large number that is the digit 1 followed by one hundred zeros. if you multiply a googol by 100, how many zeros will that product have? please answer this I Lagitlamently had to put 100 zeros on the calculator!!!!!!!!!

In order to determine the number of zeros defined by 1 googol multiplied by 100 let's look at a simpler idea.

1 x 100 (2 zeros) = 100 (2 zeros)

(1 zero) x (2 zeros) = (3 zeros)

(4 zeros)

Notice that the number of zeros in the product will be the sum of the number of zeros in the factors.

1000 x 1000 = 1,000,000 (6 zeros)

Therefore googol (100 zeros) multiplied by 100 would have 102 zeros
