Yes, the correct answer is indeed D. Egypt.
The Nile River is located in Africa, and given that Egypt is the only country among these options also in Africa, that has to be the correct answer. China is obviously in Asia, Harappa was a Pakistani civilization, and Sumer was in Mesopotamia, which is in today's Iraq.

What was Marco Polo's response to paper money? How did he react?
tester [92]
Marco Polo reverently described Khubilai Khan and his palaces, along with paper money, coal, postal service, eyeglasses and other innovations that had not yet appeared in Europe. He also told partially erroneous self-aggrandizing tales about warfare, commerce, geography, court intrigues and the sexual practices of the people who lived under Mongol rule.

Answer:

The correct answer should be The voters cast their ballots in a building called Independence Hall but they were not free to make their own decisions.

Explanation:

Although ballots were cast at the independence hall by delegates to the congress, the delegates were not free to make their own decisions. This was because delegates were elected to the Congress by thirteen different governments, and these delegates were bound by whatever instructions were given to them. For this reason, regardless of their personal opinions, the delegates could not vote for or against independence unless their instructions permitted such an action. This is an irony because the congress voted for independence, being bound by the instructions given to them.
