From the question, we are told that y varies inversely as x

This is mathematically written as

\begin{gathered} y\propto\frac{1}{x} \\ \propto\text{ is a sign of proportionality } \end{gathered}

Now, we will remove the proportionality sign and replace it with equal to sign =

If we do this, we will intoduce a constant k

\begin{gathered} y\propto\frac{1}{x} \\ y=k\times\frac{1}{x} \\ y=\frac{k}{x} \end{gathered}

So we have the formula

y=\frac{k}{x}

We will substitute the values of x for 10 and y for 8 into the formula to get k, we have

\begin{gathered} y=\frac{k}{x} \\ 8=\frac{k}{10} \\ k=8\times10 \\ k=80 \end{gathered}

Now, we will substitute k for 80 back into the formula to get the inverse function, we have

\begin{gathered} y=\frac{k}{x} \\ y=\frac{80}{x} \end{gathered}

Hence the answer is option C

If you’re asking for the cost of the drink, the drink would be $1. This is because 2 sandwiches would cost $10 and that means 1 sandwich would make it $5. If 2 sandwiches cost $10, the remaining $2 in the $12 dollars would be the drinks. 2 drinks for $2 would make 1 drink for $1. So the cost of 5 drinks is $5 or $1 per drink.

How do I do problem number one

So you have to find something that multiples to six but also somehow either subtracts or adds to five. So I would pick 2 and 3 because two plus three is five. Then you would write out your equation
X2+2x+5x+6
This may not be the way your teacher taught however it is much easier for me to do it this way.
