A- parental expectations can be beneficial by letting kids know what’s important - and so they can strive to do what’s good for them (assuming there is good parental expectations)
b- they might be detrimental because kids may feel overwhelmed, and feel as if they cannot live up to their expectations, causing them to not do as well as kids who do live up to their parental expectations
