The Arthashastra was written by Kautilya, also known Chanakya, between the 2nd and 3rd Century BCE. It was an ancient Indian treatise that served as a source of good governance and guidelines for kings and rulers.
It contains duties, statesmanship, code of conducts, war strategies, economic policies, etc which provides and explains the ways to become a good ruler.
