Solve for d

d=5t+2

d=2+5t (divide both sides of the second one by two)

so they are both equal to d=5t+2

That means that the graph of the solutions to the system is a straight line - because every point on the line would be a solution to the system. It also means that the equation are equivalent. This means that every solution to the first equation is a solution to the second equation.

This question is poorly worded because they both go the same direction, but since parallel lines are defined as lines that never intersect, and these lines do intersect (they're the same line)...

Among the four, the false statement is "The graphs of the equations are parallel lines."

Answer:

The graphs of the equations are parallel lines.

Step-by-step explanation:

This is the false statement because all they did was DOUBLE the top equation and wrote the new equation below it. This would be considered dependency. Whenever we have infinitely many solutions, we have a dependent system of equations.

Tcecarenko [31]
Add the 18, 16, and 8 together
Then subtract that number from 50.

18+16+8=42
50-42=8

So, 8 patrons don't like either.

An operator at the top of a lighthouse sights a sailboat. The point from which the sighting is made is 25 m above sea level. The
Aneli [31]

Answer:

141.78 m

Step-by-step explanation:

Let d = distance of boat from the base of the lighthouse

Tan 10 = 25/d

d tan 10 = 25

d = 25/tan 10

d = 141.78 m

What is the average rate of change for the table and graph below over the interval [0,3]?
Leokris [45]

Answer:

-2

Step-by-step explanation:

The average rate of change is the slope using the points (0, 10) and (3, 4). The slope is found using the formula \frac{y2-y1}{x2-x1}

\frac{4-10}{3-0}= \frac{-6}{3}=-2
