Answer:

c = 7859.92

Step-by-step explanation:

Initial balance  = $5,195.65

Deposit = $6,873.22

checks = $c

maintenance fee = $15

Interest =  $6.05

Final balance = $4,200.00

Her initial balance was $5,195.65 and she made a deposit of $6,873.22 and she has an interest of  $6.05. All this value are added to the account.

The checks she wrote and the maintenance fee is subtracted from the account.

Final balance = Initial balance + deposit + interest - c - maintenance fee

4,200.00 =  5,195.65  + 6,873.22 + 6.05 - c - 15

make c the subject of the formula

c = 5,195.65  + 6,873.22 + 6.05 - 15 - 4,200.00

c = 12074.92  - 15- 4200.00

c = 7859.92

We want to place a bench measuring 7.05 feet in the center of a platform that is 40.75 feet long
AnnyKZ [126]
40.75 - 7.05= 33.7
33.7 / 2 = 16.85
16.85 ft. should be on each side of the 7.05 ft. bench

Answer:

8.2 units

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that the only information for our triangle are 2 sides and 1 angle, we must use the Law of Cosines to find side BC

<u />

<u>Recall the Law of Cosines</u>

<u />a^2=b^2+c^2-2bc\cdot cos(A)

<u>Identify angles and sides</u>

<u />m\angle A=23^\circ\\a=BC=?\\b=AC=14\\c=AB=6

<u>Solve for side "a"</u>

<u />a^2=b^2+c^2-2bc\cdot cos(A)\\\\a^2=14^2+6^2-2(14)(6)\cdot cos(23^\circ)\\\\a^2=196+36-168cos(23^\circ)\\\\a^2=222-168cos(23^\circ)\\\\a=\sqrt{222-168cos(23^\circ)}\\ \\a\approx8.2

Therefore, the length of line segment BC is about 8.2 units
