12/t+t-8=0
multiply everything by t to get the answer
12+t²-8t=0
t²-8t+12
now use the quadratic formula to solve:
t=-b±√(b²-4ac)/2a
substitute the variables and solve:
t=-(-8)±√(-8²-4(1)(12))/2(1)
t=8± √64-48/2
t=8±√16/2
t=8±4/2
t=6 and t=2
check your work by substituting each answer into the original equation:
12/6+6-8=0
2+-2=0
0=0 correct!
12/2+2-8=0
6+-6=0
0=0 correct!

The correct answer is t=6 and t=2

jeyben [28]

Step-by-step explanation:

☄ \underline{ \underline{ \text{Question }}}: The ratio of new houses to antique houses in a village is 4 : 5 . If there are 12 new houses , how many antique houses are there ?

☄\underline{ \underline{ \text{Solution}}} :

✏ Let , the number of antique houses in a village be ' x ' .

Then , According to the question :

\sf{ \frac{Number \: of \: new \: houses}{Number \: of \: antique \: houses}  \:  =  \:  \frac{4}{5}}

⤑\sf{ \frac{12}{x}  =  \frac{4}{5}}

Apply cross product property

⤑\sf{4 \times x = 12 \times 5}

⤑\sf{4x = 60}

⤑\sf{ \frac{4x}{4}  =  \frac{60}{4}}

⤑\sf{x = 15}

So, The number of antique houses in a village is 15.

\red{ \boxed{ \boxed{ \tt{Our \: final \: answer :  \boxed{ \bold{15}}}}}}

Hope I helped ! ♡

Fatima paid for 5 pallets of grass to be delivered each pallet cost $129.95. Fatima paid $76.20 for delivery. What is the total
lianna [129]

Answer:

$725.95

Step-by-step explanation:

First, calculate how much she paid for the 5 pallets

Each pallet costs 129.95, and she paid for 5, so we can multiply the 2 numbers

129.95*5=649.75

Then, add the delivery cost

649.75+76.20=725.95

So the total amount she paid is $725.95

Hope this helps! :)
