The correct answer is B.

The Vietnam War (which lasted from 1955-1975) was a long battle between North Vietnam and South Vietnam. In this war, other countries got involved in order to support both countries. The US supported South Vietnam and the Soviet Union supported North Vietnam.

The goal of the North Vietnamese was to unite all of Vietnam under a communist government. After twenty years of fighting and hundreds of thousands of deaths, they accomplished this goal. Saigon was captured in April of 1975 by the North Vietnamese. This marked the end of the war.
