He has 3/4 package and plants 1/6 of seeds.

3/4 * 1/6 = 1/8

He divides the rest equally into 10 flowerpots. What is the rest? In order to know what "the rest" is, you must subtract 1/8 from 3/4. Find the common denominator of 4 and 8 which is 8. Multiple the numerator 3 * 2= 6 with a denominator of 8.

3/4 - 1/8 = 6/8 -1/8
= 5/8

5/8 is left to be divided equally into 10 flowerpots.

5/8 ÷ 10/1
= 5/8 * 1/10
= 5/80
= 1/16

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

the balloon starts at  (10, 0 )

it ends at  16,0)

in the middle it's at between 10 and 16 , so say about 13, where it reaches 27

so in the middle it's (13,27)

so  ( 11, 9)

(12, 18)

got 13

(14, 18)

(15, 9)

got 16

A sealed tank of water measures 10cm x 8 cm x 40cm. When it stands on one
Pavel [41]

Answer:

New height = 6

Step-by-step explanation:

The water is going to be the same volume no matter how the tank is orientated.

So you can do this 2 ways.

First way

Find the volume in the tank when the water goes up 24 cm on the height.

V = L*W*h

L = 8

W = 10

H = 24

V = 1920 cm^3

Now do it using the

L = 40

W = 8

h = ?

1920 = L * W * h

1920 = 40 * 8 * h

1920 = 320 * h

h * 320 = 1920

h = 1920/320

h = 6

Or you can do it without finding the 1920

L*W*h = L1 * w1 * h1

8*10*24 = 40 * 8 * h                                The 8's cancel

10*24 = 40*h                                           Divide both sides by 10

24 = 4h                                                    Divide by 4

h = 6

Same as you got before.

A bag of marbles contains 13 red marbles, 9 blue marbles, and 12 green marbles. If one marble is chosen at random, which is the
Pachacha [2.7K]

Answer:

B. 11/17

Step-by-step explanation:

The total number of marbles in the bag is 34

13 + 9 + 12 = 34

Then you subtract 12 from 34, since you want to know the probability of NOT getting a green marble.

12 - 34 = 22

Then you plug them into the equation:

# of outcomes that satisfy the requirement/ total # of possible outcomes

22/34  = 11/17

Hope this helps!

Assume that you select 2 coins at random from 8 coins: 5 dimes and 3 quarters.
Vilka [71]
If the coins are selected without replacement, the probability of 2 dimes is:\frac{5}{8}\times\frac{4}{7}=\frac{5}{14}
The answer is 5/14.
Using the formula for a hypergeometric distribution, we get:
P(2\ dimes)=\frac{5C2\times3C0}{8C2}=\frac{5}{14}
