In photosynthesis, plants use carbon dioxide and water in the presence of sunlight to manufacture glucose and oxygen while in cellular respiration plants and animals breakdown glucose in the presence of oxygen to produce carbon dioxide, water and energy. The energy produced in cellular respiration is used to carry out other cellular processes.
