In 1847 he went to New York from his home country, Germany, to join on dry goods wholesale business his family had. When California Gold Rush began, he decided to go there and open a branch of the family business in San Francisco in 1853. He became a famous figure in the city being lively in the business and cultural life of San Francisco. Strauss got a letter from one of his costumers, Jacob Davis in 1872, in which he told him about the innovative way he was making pants from duck and denim. To make them stronger Davis used copper rivets. He also wanted to patent the idea of fascinating the clothing and because he did not have enough money for patent application Davis was asking Strauss to be his business partner and to share the costs. Strauss agreed and on May 20, 1873 the full US Patent No. 139121 was arranged in the name of Jacob W. Davis and Levi Strauss and Company. That was the birthday of the blue jeans.

Answer:

b. Macro-level; micro-level

Explanation:

The options for this question are missing. The options are:

a. Micro-level; macro-level

b. Macro-level; micro-level

c. They are both macro-level.

d. They are both micro-level.

In social sciences such as sociology and research there are different levels of analysis:

 • Micro-level: It refers to small social scale situations that affect smaller groups or specific individuals.
 • Macro-level: It refers to large social scale situations that affect large groups or societies.

In this example, Eleanor is researching the effect of social media on worldwide political awareness, we can see that this a large social-scale situation and thus it would be a macro-level analysis.

On the other hand, Felix is examining the effect of WoW on the romantic relationships of middle-aged men in his metro area, his research is a smaller social-scale and is exploring a specific set of individuals, therefore it would be a micro-level analysis.

salantis [7]

Answer:

Though the declaration said that 'all men are created equal' the rights of the slaves were being violated by the white men.

Explanation:

The Declaration of Independence of the United States was penned by Thomas Jefferson. The declaration of the United States promoted equality in the treaty, yet the slaves were not treated equally and their rights were violated by the white men. Jefferson, himself was a lifelong slaveholder. When the treaty was signed, the issue of slavery in America was prevalent. The founders of the Declaration were not ignorant of this problem. A passage, referring to the problem was included in the Declaration, but was removed. Jefferson asserted that out of political necessity, the passage was removed from the Declaration.
